Who Am I?

Welcome to ESOL Writing 3 Blog! This blog is especially for my ESOL Writing 3 students. I would like to you type your journal entries here and enjoy reading your classmates' journal entries. Please do encourage each other and comment on your classmates' posts. This blog is like your journal where you will type your comments on assigned topics, and you are also required to comment on at least two other students posts.

My name is Kunakorn Turner. I came from Thailand. I would like to share about my culture. In Thailand had The king. We very respect him and love him very much. He was very good. He was work so hard for his people and our country. Everyone had a picture of the king and queen in every house. I don't know why we love him. But sine I grow up saw him never to stop working and do a lot of stuff like he is a normal people.He studied about the weather for protecting from water flood. He went to visit his people everywhere. No matter it difficult to go.He also makes the artificial rain for some city doesn't have rain right time. On October 24, 2016, it has bad news for Thailand.Our King passes away .it very broken heart Thai people so much. He was so old. We are praying for him to rest in peace. He always still in our heart forever.

My name is Nilda Afonso and I am from Cuba. I have lived in Houston for two years. I'm single but I have a boyfriend. I don't have any children yet because I would like to speak and understand excellent English like American people before that. I have worked for one year and nine months in Mambo Seafood Restaurant. I enjoy to work with customers because some customers are funny and nice people. When I lived in Cuba, I studied Accounting in the University. I love math, so I hope to study for any career here that it is connecting with math, such as Business Administration, Finances. In my free time I like to got to gym and beach, also I like so much see the sunset near to sea together with my boyfriend and take many pictures. I believe that everything that you can do near the sea is healthy and relaxing. This is a little background about me.

My name is Dilek Lule. I am from Turkey. I have been living for almost a year in the USA. When I was a child, I lived in the Antalya from Turkey. Still, My family lives in the Antalya. I remember these days were very enjoyed because I had a lot of best friends, and spend good times Sometimes I miss these days. I am married and have a child. My daughter is going to Kindergarten. I have been continuing for five months in the LSC for English Course. Language is the very big problem for me so I have to study more. I want to learn English the least time. I believe If l learn to speak English, I can find a job. While I am drinking a cup of coffee, I read a book that these times my enjoyment.

I was born because my parents dreamed with to have a daughter, but I wasn’t a dream, so I was a dream and I am a dreamer. Since I was a child, I created my games, and I also imagined being singer, actress, dancer, and teacher. I wanted to travel and I panted pictures of landscapes that I thought to want to know. Now, I fell that I have danced and still dance for the world. I studied art and communication because inside me I keep the sensibility of art and the necessity the share it. In one moment on my life, I needed to transfer this soul and my knowledge, and I worked to created one Faculty of Art in one of the most important universities of my country, Venezuela. It is a reality today. Everything is a goal for me. Read a book is a goal, cooking a special dish is a goal, to do a travel is a goal, to help to me children to be big is a goal, to live in a new country is a goal, to be a loving wife is a goal, to learn English is a goal, but to be happy and be quiet is the most important goal to me, and this is my real dream. I don’t want only to dream with something, I want to do it, even to be happy with my life. I am Georgina Palencia.

I'd like to share something interesting about myself. First, my name is Phuong Hoang, and I was born in Sai Gon city in Vietnam. I grew up in my hometown. The city is from South in Vietnam, but it's a center economic in my country. Second, I am so kind, friendly and helpful. I like to read a book and spend time for reading and writing every day when I have time. Third, my hobbies are painting, play tennis and hang out with my friends at a coffee shop. For example, I love to go some places in the morning on holidays and my day off. After school and work, I like to go the gym with my mother and enjoy with her. Finally, I have a busy life, but I try to enjoin my hobbies and make me feel comfortable when I can do that. In conclusion, I am friendly and happy to share something about myself.

"Who am I" could sound as an easy question to answer, but when you think two times or a litlle more about it, it makes harder to respond. I think everybody is the same, but at the same time we have some differences which make us unique. My name is Carlos Ayllon, I am from Caracas, Venezuela. I am like you, a dreamer and a fighter who changed his life traveling thousands of miles for reaching a goal.

I have been here in Houston since June of last year and this experience has been amazing, because I love meeting new people and in this country I have learned that when people have a real connection sometimes is not necessary to speak perfectly some language, in this case english. When chemistry is present between two people, language goes to a second field. I hope that this experience keep going as it goes, I have faced some difficult situations but make us stronger. So, do not stop dreaming and keep working as you were doing!

"Who am I" My name is Guanjun Liu. I come from Beijing, China. I came to Houston about two and half years ago. I am still in Lone Star trying to improve my English so that I can find a job later. I have an outgoing personality. I can get along with anyone from babies to 100 years old grandmas. I love helping others because it makes me feel good. I love cooking. In my spare time, I love to invent new recipes, but it usually does not work at first. I have to try several times before I can invite my friends over to taste my new recipe. I learned cooking myself since I was in first grade. When I was young, my mother was very busy with her work and my father makes awful food. So I just decided to cook myself. I think I must have born with this talent because most people love my food. It makes me really happy to see people enjoying my food. I also love traveling. Not like most people who travel for sightseeing. I travel for food. I love trying all different kind of food. After I try something new, I can always try to make that food again when I come home. Isn’t this talent!

Who am I?
I want to share some things with you about myself. I'm Rigoberto from a small island in the Caribbean called Cuba. I feel that I'm a nice guy with a great personality because I'm friendly and I feel better when I can help somebody or do a good action. Plants and animals are really important to me and their conservation is part of my work in this world. My childhood was simple but really interesting. For example, I used to play with my friends without shoes, climb trees, and swim in rivers .I got my first cell phone when I was sixteen years old, so I had enough time to enjoy the simple and little things that the life gave me.
My family is really important to me.My grandmother is the most important person in my life because she always tries to be by my side and take care of me.My parents are amazing and all the time they are teaching me new things and great values, I'm very grateful to them. In my country of birth, I lived and enjoyed many traditions of our Cuban culture. For instance, The New Year party is one of the more unforgettable events to me, where my whole family meets and share to receive the next year.

My free time is short, but I have many hobbies and interests. When I'm off in my work or in school vacations I usually do things such as workout at the gym, listening music, watch history documentaries, take pictures with my camera and go to night clubs. My future is essential to me because I have big goals. One of my dreams is become a doctor and have my own clinic. Travel around the world and have a beautiful family also would make me the happiest man on the planet. This is part of my history and my life in general; I hope that you've had the opportunity to know me better.

I would like to share with you some information about myself. My name is Thang Nguyen, and I am an international student from Vietnam. Excluding me, there are just two members of my family: my mom and my sister. They are living in Vietnam now. I also have another family which is my adopted one. Even though I just spent a month with them during my last visit to Vietnam, I am so grateful to be with them in a big family. One thing, what is about me, will get your attention is that I'm not totally Vietnamese. I am combined by Vietnamese and Cambodian. My dad's family was originally from Cambodia. About my personalities, I am an outgoing, friendly, and honest person. I would never lie to anyone that I know well. I like to care about people who I love and know. Sometimes, I have issues to start a conversation with new people. So, if you want to talk to me, don't hesitate. I also have one negative thing about my personality, and this is sometimes I talk too much. You may not feel that if you don't know me well. I'm sure that you will feel that when you know me more. My friends complain about it all the times. I like to travel around the world and explore new things. I love hanging out with friends when we have time, too. One funny thing that you shouldn't be the one who first asks me to do a work group with you. I may be lazy, not concentrate, or sometimes distract you, but it will depend on what we are doing. I will get serious when the tasks are important. I remember one time when I was in middle school. My group had to do the poster for my class to welcome the Teacher's Day. My group had gathered one week to do that. During the first six days, all we could do were to write our ideas down and think how to design the poster. Then, I was the one who distracted them by asking them to buy some food, cook food, or sing karaoke. That was very fun time, and we just did the poster on the last day. It was just a happy time in the past whenever I remember. All of these I shared about are just a little about myself, and I hope you enjoy reading it.

I moved to USA about 12 years,I lived in Los Angeles California for 10 years,but I moved in Houston with my family.I like to Houston because everywhere people speaks English. I feel my English improved here,my hobbies are going to the gym and playing basketball.Im studying in Lone Star College because I would like to study Plummer, or Electricity because is interesting.I hope make good friends in this class

because it's a beautiful place to live. I decide to improve my English to study engineering because I

love engineering and my dream are to be an engineer. I like outgoing for walking with my friends. I

love bicycle and football when I was child I have two of them, once a time I have crashed in the wall

because the break is failure it was a painful crash and I played football in the street of a branch with

set of goal by small rocks it was beautiful childhood ever. I love photography my dream is traveling

to see sightseeing in many countries and take a picture to all beautiful places in the world. I love cars

very much I interested in all branch of it and knowing in many of it details.

In my spare time, I used to watch movies I like it very much. My family is my important thing in my

My name is Trinh Pham, a Vietnamese student. I'm a middle child. in a family of 5 people. My big brother and I lived with my grandparents and aunts when we were children. Our great childhood was spent with them and our friends in the neighborhood. We learned a lot of things from my grandparents and aunts. They really missed us since we studied abroad. Moreover, my grandfather missed me the most. He made me cry when he said that. I remember all the special occasion of the year with my family such as Christmas or Tet holiday.

My name is Aseel Alrubaye. I am from Iraq. First, I 'm married and I have two boys.I came to the United States before four years ago with my husband and our kids but my parents, brothers, and sisters still in my country. so I miss them extremely.
Second I studied Accounting and Auditing and I had experience of the banking business. Now I want to improve my English after that Actually, I have a lot to achieve it.
Finally, let me talk a little bit about my hobbies and interested in, Honestly, my favorite hobby is reading. I try to read the books and novels constantly. The last book I read it was Arabic novels its name "Baghdad clock". As for my interests, I interested in flowers and roses a lot. I like all kinds of flowers and I have a diverse collection of them. Such as Tulips, Mercury, Narcissus, Jasmine and other.
In conclusion, I guess that's was all that concerns the definition for the title of "Who am I?".

Nice to be here with you guys in this class.By the way my name is THINH, but you can call me by my English name,my English name is TIM.I came from vietnam.I have lived here for more than one year.I came here by myself.today, I wuold like to tell you about myself, who am I ? Something interesting about me is I am a funny person,I always want to make people laughing and happy when they are talking to me or meet me at the first time.I like to listening to music too,the songs I love are emotional about fall in love boys and girls,parents and kids. " Who am I ?" is a title that everyone feel familiar, but its detail is very different. And me, also. I'm Dan Nguyen. I'm a Vietnamese. I will introduce somethings about me, and I want to make friend with you in this class. First, my interests are travel, eat Vietnamese foods, listen to music, and wear dress. When I am a kid, I wanted to travel with my parents. I want to go everywhere on the world and take photographs to memorize places where I come. Vietnamese foods are very abundant and delicious. I usually listen to music after I get up in the morning and when I feel sad. I like to wear dress, because I feel comfortable and more beautiful. Continue, I will tell you about my education. I graduated university in my country as a environment engineer. I worked about 5 years before I moved in USA. And now, I 'm trying to learn to have a good job. I want to become a businesswoman. I will be owner a Vietnamese restaurant. It is my dream, and I wish it will be a truth. Also, I wish your dreams will be a truth. Have a successful semester!!!

Hi, my name is Lalys Wilhite, I'm from Colombia South America. I came to this Country a few years ago. I have a 16 year old son, he is in the 11 grade of high school. At this moment of my life I'm taking Real Estate classes at a Real Estate School, and I'm also learning how to write, speak, read, and communicate in English at the Lone Start College University Park. I love to listen to music, read non fiction books, and do a lot of outdoor activities. For example fishing is wonderful and is very exciting for me. Also hunting and camping are some of the activities I enjoying doing with my family. I'm looking forward to see myself successful in my career and in the process of learning the beautiful English language.

Hello students,
I enjoyed reading your introductions expressed in so many unique styles, such as:
- I was reminded of the thousands of miles we have traveled from native country to the US, our host country.Thanks Carlos!

- I also realized what a treasure cell phone is, specially when it is gifted to a sixteen year old. Thanks Rigo!

- The family that adopts a young international student is as close to the heart as one's biological family. Thanks Thang!

- I'm still waiting to taste for sumptuous Chinese food cooked by our very own Guanjin - maybe you can prepare a simple dish for the Asian Cultural Festival on Monday, Feb. 27th :)

- I admire the student who, in spite of long work hours, takes out time to read books. Thanks Phuong!

- Dilek, I hope to sip some fine Turkish tea one day with you.

- Nilda, being at seaside is indeed very relaxing. They say that the "voice of the sea speaks to the soul!"

- Konakorn, it is in my bucket list to visit Thailland one day -the land of the most beautiful culture, heritage, and food.

- Eleazar, I do not understand head or tail of any sports, but basketball is close to my heart as my son plays it, too.

- Zaid, we would love to see samples of your photography. I think interest in taking pictures and passion for travel go hand in hand.

Aseel, today I tried cleaning my backyard and making the planters ready for the next season - not much wait now for the spring, fresh blooms, birds, and the cool breeze.

Dan - Now that you talked about Vietnamese food, I have a craving for Pho soup.

Lalys - Texas is the place for hunting - share with us more about your hunting experience.

Patricia, I can imagine how much fun it must have been when you were with your siblings in Jalisco - more the merrier.

Trinh - They say grandparents are closer to our hearts than our grandparents. You are lucky that you treasure such good memories of your childhood.

Thinh - Yes, you do have great sense of humor - we always look forward to your jokes and smiles.

Hi! My name's Bao. I am from Viet Nam. I grew up in Viet Nam with my family, and my family have 4 people. I graduated electronic communication at Can Tho university, Viet Nam. After that, I worked at small office near my house for 1 year. Then I moved the United State, and I continue study. Now, I am studying English at Lone Star College University Park because I want to improve my English skills. I want to become a businessman in the future, so I need to try on the next time.
